Circuit | we are what we are,  Experimental Film, Portrait, 38 Min, UK, 2018

Circuit - we are what we are is a film with experimental approaches in terms of format as well as concept. The concept of the film has been awarded with the „Leeds for Life Scholarship Foundation Award 2018". In terms of content it appropriately addresses - on the basis of the self-experiment - the search for orientation and self-realisation in a multicultural system in the age of technological transformation. Existential, but also provocative - because supposedly trivial - themes and questions convey to the viewer an excerpt of the most diverse subcultures, communities and parallel societies in the English city of Leeds. Against the backdrop of the British exit from the EU and newly drawn alliance borders the protagonist attempts to uncover a non-verbal moment. A moment of openness and truly interested interpersonal encounters. „...- we are what we are“ stands for an unvarnished simplicity in the representation of people and facts and positions itself on several levels against consumer oriented forms of representation.
